New York City underground’s leading lady Miss Jennifer is back with a brand new album called Vibeology on NYC’s hottest underground label, Nervous Records! Featuring Miss Jennifer’s own new original mixes and remixes, as well as tracks from other big names from the NYC club scene, Vibeology is the perfect mix for listeners to get a real taste of New York and experience it’s incredible vibe!
Miss Jennifer kicks off Vibeology with a quick sample of the classic Astrid Suryanto vocal from King Britt’s Now, a vocal dropped frequently in Miss Jennifer’s live sets, and Jennifer keeps it moving hard right off the bat with her latest original mix, Go, a sick tech house mix with a deep groovy bass-line, percussive snares and cow bells, and a funky background vocal that will have you bouncing along from start to finish. We get more of the New York flavor with Boris’ Want U Back and Peter Bailey & Richie Santana’s recent bomb Twisted off of Carlo Lio’s Rawthentic Music label. Miss Jennifer rounds out the first half of Vibeology with remixes from two more of NYC’s own: Chriss Vargas’ outstanding take on Dev Bhandari’s Dirty Wonderland, transforming the darker tech house original into a deeper techno track that really works the amazing vocal top-line over an energetic, repeating synth line, putting you into a trance, and Jean Pierre’s remix of Redkone’s Right On, a funky and groovy mix that Miss Jennifer uses to pick you back up and build up for the second half of her set.
Miss Jennifer turns it up in the second half of Vibeology and really starts to deliver the vibe message by using her own new original mixes and remixes. Generation is a collaboration between Miss Jennifer and NYC’s Cristian Arango, and the much darker vibe reminds us of Miss Jennifer’s knack for switching up her style during live sets and being able to take you deeper into the underground, then being able to pick you right back up, as she does with Yo Quiero featuring Supremo – another new original mix with a Latin house vibe and vocal, tribal drums, and woodwind sounds. Miss Jennifer also drops one of her Nervous Records bombs from earlier this year, her remix to David Patel’s Addiction, and brings the album to a close with her self-titled Vibeology track, which bounces us back and forth between that dark underground vibe and more uplifting/upbeat vibe, eventually leading you into a mind-blowing drop and eventually the album’s end, which makes the whole journey seem like a tease and only keeps you wanting more!
Miss Jennifer’s Vibeology is one of the hottest albums to hit the underground club scene this summer, and it holds especially dear to fans in it’s hometown of New York City – to get a real taste of the NYC vibe, this album is a must!
