Tyler Sherritt @ Pacha NYC Recap

Tyler Sherritt @ Pacha NYC Recap

Last week, House4DJ.com had the opportunity to attend a massive event: our friend Tyler Sherritt’s very first headlining gig at the one and only Pacha NYC! Having seen Tyler Sherritt several times before, as an opener in the Pacha big room and headlining other New York City hot spots like CieloSantos Party House, and Tenjune, we could have only imagined what would be in store for us on this giant occasion!

Setting the tone for the night was California DJ Jason Ross, who played some crowd-pleasing bombs towards the end of his set to get us ready for Tyler Sherritt. Tracks like Pryda’s Allein and eventually an acapella of Nadia Ali’s Rapture had the crowd moving until his closing track, Art Shumiloff’s Outbreaks. The crowd was ready to feel the heat that Tyler Sherritt was surely going to bring, and as you can believe, he did not let us down!

Opening up with his banger bootleg mash-up of Gregor Salto’s Azumba and La Fuente’s Dounia mashed up even more with the R3hab & Quintino remix of Tiesto’s Chasing Summers with the acapella to Simian’s We Are Your Friends caught us all off guard and by wonderful surprise – wow! If it were any indication to how the night would go on, then we were in for quite a treat. One of the biggest things that sets Tyler Sherritt apart as an artist and producer is his ability to sing, which he did so live for his own tracks over Pacha NYC’s sound system – something that happens there very rarely by vocal guests, and if ever even done by the DJ himself! Singing the vocals of his own track On The Otherside over Hard Rock Sofa’s recent bomb Rasputin left us with chills, and the mash-up following of Dimitry Vegas & Like Mike’s Wakanda vs GTA, Henrix, & Digital Lab’s Hit It! with the acapella to Zedd’s Clarity kept the energy bursting throughout the club. The screaming fans (especially the girls) only got louder when Tyler Sherritt went into his next track, the original mix with Carl Nunes & Ale Q on Survive.

Continuing his headlining onslaught at Pacha NYCTyler Sherritt kept dropping serious bombs like The Aston Shuffle vs Tommy Trash’s SunriseArno Cost’s Head Up with Zedd’s Spectrum acapella, and then his live version of his own original mix with Jake Shanahan called Wonders. Soon after Tyler dropped one of the most impressive live mash-ups of the night, Deadmau5’s Channel 42 (Nom De Strip Remix) with Sunnery James & Ryan Marciano’s Lethal Industry – a personal favorite of his set! Right after was the instrumental to another fan favorite track, the Tommy Trash remix to Steve Aoki’s Ladi Dadi with the classic vocals of Alphaville’s Forever Young, leading into Hardwell’s Spaceman and Mat Zo’s Bipolar.

As his set was drawing to a close, Tyler Sherritt never once lost a bit of energy, and the crowd kept moving non-stop every second! Dropping the Eric Prydz remix of Depeche Mode’s Personal Jesus, a usual staple in Tyler’s sets, riled the dancefloor up as he continued to bring fire with a mash-up of the world famous drop of the Faithless classic Insomnia with Steve Angello’s Knas and the Thomas Gold rework of Adrian Lux’s Teenage Crime, leading seamlessly into the Dada Life remix of Kaskade’s LloveTyler Sherritt then wowed the crowd by dropping his collab with First State, his biggest original mix Maze, and leaving the crowd screaming with the Qulinez remix of Calvin Harris & Florence Welch’s Sweet Nothing. The final track of Tyler’s set left chills up our spines (he dropped this same track when he closed out Pacha for Madeon a few weeks ago), which was an incredible mash-up of Deadmau5’s Strobe and Axwell & Sebastian Ingrosso’s Together acapella vs the Michael Woods remix of Strobe. Amazing!

The young producer M1sterone closed the night out, dropping tracks like Steve Aoki’s Ooh (Dzeko & Torres Remix), as well as Norman Doray & Nervo’s Something To Believe In (Hard Rock Sofa Vocal Mix).

With a night that has surely left an imprint on the club-goers minds for a long time, we can only try to anticipate what’s coming next from this young rising star!
