The world of electronic music is wide, and there are many different genres ignored for a long time by the public. Over the past 10 years, electronic music has been widely spread in countries like Russia, USA, or Scandinavia. Countries of Eastern Europe, and countries like Holland and Belgium, have slightly shifted from music such as HardStyle and Trance for a little more Electro House and Progressive House.
This is exactly the way the three Russians formed Swanky Tunes, experimenting with different electronic styles in pursuit of their own sound. At first, there were techno sounds mixed with vintage synthesizers. Then the group moved into a distinctly big-beat influenced sound. These days, hints of the techno, electro-80′s, and the contemporary progressive house movements are all finding their way into the mix.
Swanky Tunes have worked very hard, as they were named Best Musical Group in 2006 and 2007 at the Russian Dance Music Awards, and for 3 years they are rising to the highest level of the Electronic Dance Music. The process has been accelerated since they started to produce Progressive House, to collaborate with some others talented guys such as Hard Rock Sofa, and releasing tracks on famous labels like Cr2 Records or Spinnin Records.
In a year, they grabbed a lot of experience in the music industry, made a lot of contacts, and it was really important for them to spread their music and their name across the USA. So they did their first time ever in USA at the end of the Summer 2011 with some gigs at Amnesia Miami, to name one, and they came for the most awaited week of the year : Miami Music Week.
MIAMI MUSIC WEEK
From March 19th to March 25th, Miami Beach was invested by clubbers, students, artists, media and professionals from the worldwide music industry and the nightlife. Swanky Tunes had no less than 11 gigs over the week, concluded by the famous Ultra Music Festival. Among these gigs there were :
Mixmash Pool Party at National Hotel : A luxury hotel in South Beach offering an amazing outside area with a pool, chilling zone with deck chairs and all the comfort. For this pool party, a big stage was dressed back to the beach and thousands of people were able to jump in front of the stage or in VIP Areas located on the sides. So many talented DJs were playing all the afternoon like Angger Dimas, Felix Cartal, A-Trak, Tommy Trash, Sunnery James and Ryan Marciano, Laidback Luke, along with Afrojack, Sander van Doorn, and of course, the Russian trio Swanky Tunes to close the party at 10 PM. The dancefloor was full of people from the beginning until the end without pause. Swanky Tunes did a really great performance, playing their forthcoming tracks such as Make Some Noise produced alongside with the Dutch Tiesto.
Mynt Lounge : Probably one of the most elegant clubs with reputation for the tightest door policy and most fabulous crowd in the magic city, Mynt Lounge hosted many parties during the Miami Music Week with artists like R3hab, Chris Lake, Thomas Gold and more in a wonderful background. People were amazed by all the lighted walls and the really incredible lighting setups.
Refune Party at Wall and Amnesia : Two parties in two big clubs for the Refune Party of Sebastian Ingrosso along with Alesso, Otto Knows and of course the russian trio Swanky Tunes. Wall is one of the little clubs with an amazing reputation for being prestigious. It matched perfectly with the kind of crowd expected by the boss of Refune, Sebastian Ingrosso for this first party. At the end of the week, the same actors were at Amnesia located on Collins Avenue. People were a bit younger than at Wall, but also more accessible for all the fans to enjoy the sound of these DJs. This party was really HOT, those who were present know what I mean, but people enjoyed it until the end with a big Funktion setup and an fantastic light design leaded by the french Maxime Moussier.
No Suggar Added at Nikki Beach : Every year during the Miami Music Week / Winter Music Conference, the most awaited event at Nikki Beach is this No Suggar Added where the biggest DJs are expected to inflame this outdoor dancefloor at the 1st on the most prestigious road in Miami Beach, Ocean Drive. Swanky Tunes performed along with Bingo Players, Arty, Hard Rock Sofa, Deniz Koyu and others in a sunny afternoon. As it’s showed in the video, the party looked amazing.
Ultra Music Festival, Miami Downtown : No need to introduce this giant festival with no less than 150,000 people over the week end, located this year at Bayfront Park, with many different dancefloors in accordance with different kinds of EDM: Techno, Dubstep, Electro House, Progressive House. Swanky Tunes played at The Dome stage in front of hundreds people enjoying as never the forthcoming Swanky Tunes tracks.
So, as you can see on the video below, Swanky Tunes made a brilliant debut on Miami Beach which revealed three talented guys with a big future. We can also congratulate their management agency Kronos who worked very hard to prepare this week in Miami without forgetting their French videomaker from ClubbingVision for this awesome video.
