CBS Radio & Astralwerks Launch She Can DJ Competition In The United States

CBS Radio recently revealed a new partnership with the major dance music label Astralwerks, resulting in a nationwide talent search for America’s top female DJ/producer. After much success overseas in Europe and Australia, the “She Can DJ” competition has finally hit the United States, and it will launch in all major markets this July!

Aspiring female DJ’s/Producers need look no further than She Can DJ for that once in a lifetime chance to captivate an entire industry with their talent,” said Greg Strassell, Senior Vice President, Programming, CBS Radio. “The electronic dance music movement has been playing out to much success on radio stations all over the United States, and CBS RADIO looks forward to advancing the genre.

CBS Radio stations across the US, in dance music capitals like New York, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Chicago, Detroit, Boston, San Francisco, San Diego, Houston, and Charlotte, will host the She Can DJ event, where 12 semi-finalists will compete and the grand prize winner will go on a headliner tour through the CBS Radio locations that hosted the competition and receive an exclusive recording contract with Astralwerks, the prestigious label known for signing some of the world’s biggest names in dance music, like David GuettaSwedish House MafiaFatboy Slim, and The Chemical Brothers to name a few.

The United States is the hottest place on earth for dance music right now but the industry is largely male dominated. We’re thrilled to be a part of a program that will help discover and develop top female talent in the dance music space,” says Astralwerks General Manager Glenn Medlinger.
