House4DJ recently attended the New York City mega-club Marquee to see the up and coming DJ and producer Bambi! Having residencies at Marquee Las Vegas/New York, Lavo NYC, HQ in Atlantic City, and the new Hakkasan Las Vegas, we were excited to have to chance to catch Bambi at one of her resident gigs!
The opening DJ set the night off with an energetic set that had the crowd revved up, building the energy so high we could only imagine the bombs that our headliner would drop. Dropping bangers like Jewelz & Scott Sparks’ Flashbang and Morgan Page, Sultan & Ned Shepard, and BT’s In The Air had the dance floor mobbed and moving. The perfect touch was when he dropped the classic Green Velvet Flash (Nicky Romero Remix). The chatter and excitement in the room over Bambi coming on next showed just how much love Marquee and the fans had for her, and when she took over the booth, she was greeted by an amazing welcome with the incredible vibe from the crowd!
For those who aren’t familiar with Bambi, she was a supermodel by her actual name, Eva Shaw, before she became a DJ, so we were expecting Bambi to be beautiful in person, but she was even more breath-taking than we could have imagined! It’s no question that her attitude and grace in the booth (the nickname Bambi is for a reason!) sweeps her fans off their feet, but the electro bombs she dropped on top of that – we had fallen in love!
Bambi treated us to her own mash-ups and bootlegs all night, and the crowd loved every second of it. Tracks like Ummet Ozcan & W&W’s The Code and JDG & JayyFresh’s Check My Swagger blew our minds on Marquee’s insane Funktion-One sound system. Bambi also showed her good friend Tiesto some love (not only has she opened for him at Marquee NY, but also at HQ and Hakkasan) by dropping the recent R3hab & Quintino remix of Tiesto’s Chasing Summers and the massive Tiesto track Maximal Crazy. Keeping the set fresh with acpapellas on top of some of the latest electro house records, including some IDs, the crowd sang and screamed along to Bambi’s set all night, and the fans went especially crazy when Bambi dropped Trinidad James’ All Gold Everything acapella!
With successful residencies and stops at some of the world’s biggest nightclubs, plus her first ever Ultra Music Festival gig at this recent WMC now under her belt, there is no question that Bambi will keep rising to the top! Make sure to check back soon for more news and tracks from Bambi, but until then, have a listen to her most recent podcast below for a taste of what we heard at this Marquee NY event!
