The Australian electro house and dubstep duo known as Knife Party released their very first EP today called 100% No Modern TalkingKnife Party has been making a big impact on the club scene since entering it earlier this year. The duo consists of two members from the electronic rock group Pendulum, known for their greatest hit The Island, most famously remixed by Steve Angello, AN21 and Max VangeliGareth McGrillen, the bassist of Pendulum, and Rob Swire, the front-man who has also provided the vocals to Deadmau5’s Ghosts N Stuff, make up Knife Party, and together they’ve been creating some really big tracks. Most notably, Knife Party has collaborated with the giant house music trio Swedish House Mafia on their newest track called Antidote, as well as remixing Swedish House Mafia’s Save The World. Also this year, Knife Party collaborated with Skrillex on a track calledZoology, as well as remixing Nero’s Crush On You and Porter Robinson’s Unison. On 100% No Modern Talking we get four new original tracks, although they have all been played live by Knife Party already. The greatest track on the EP, Internet Friends, has already been a huge success. SinceKnife Party first dropped this track, people have been talking about it’s funny lyrics that go perfectly with the heavy electro sounds and intense drop. This track has even caught the attention of superstar producer Avicii, who played it on his Le7els 003 podcast. Also on the EP is Destroy Them With Lazers, a track with a rapid frenzy of lazer sounds that leads into a huge drop. Tourniquet has a smooth melody with some heavy dubstep sounds. The final track called Fire Hive has a dubstep sound with a reggae touch, sounding almost like the growing genre of moombahton. The variety of tracks on this EP is exactly why Knife Party has been getting so much attention! These new experimental sounds touching on different genres that Knife Party likes to call “seizure music” have been driving the club-goers wild! Check out the free download of 100% No Modern Talking today, and keep an ear out for new things from this hot new duo in the new year!
